What is Meditation?

Differrent people have different viewpoints on what meditation means. The answers vary from things like, concentrating, to doing nothing or even praying.

Meditaion is simply put as, quieting one's thoughts.

Meditation is not a new practice. With the earliest written descriptions of meditation dating back to

1500 B.C.

in Sanskrit hymns from India.

With nearly 5% of the population

(that's over 300 million people!)suffering from depression right now, this shows us we don't need more STUFF to make us happy. We have plenty of that already.

It's all the stuff that fills us up and instead of bursting like an over inflated balloon, we can release all of that through a simple meditaion practice.

I am on a mission to relieve the world of anxiety, depression and grief. These emotions can have some truly devestaing effects when left unchecked. In an effort to study myself and learn to heal, I discovered some information that shocked me to my core and furthered my passion to relieve the world of this unnessasary suffering.

And did you know that....

A Majority of Americans Are Grieving

57% experienced major loss in the last 3 years.

Did you know...That Cortisol (sometimes called the “stress hormone,') in your body may be released more than usual into your bloodstream in the 6 months after the loss of a loved one. High levels of cortisol over a long period can raise your chances of heart disease or high blood pressure.Aug 20, 2023

Did you know...Generallized Anxiety Disorder GAD affects 6.8 million adults or 3.1% of the U.S. population, yet only 43.2% are receiving treatment. NIMH: Generalized Anxiety Disorder.

Did you know... I would not have gave you all those facts if there wasnt a solution to problem!

Meditation-which comes in many variations-has long been acknowledged as a tool to master the mind and cope with stress. Science is increasingly validating those claims, especially for depression, schizophrenia, anxiety, PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), and ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder). Over 600 research studies on one form of meditation, Transcendental Meditation, indicate the positive effects of this stress reducing technique.

And many studies over the past decade have found that people who consciously count their blessings tend to be happier and less depressed.

So who am I anyway????

I AM Gratitude, I AM Abundance, I AM Love, I AM Beauty, I AM Freedom, I AM Success, I AM Generosity, I AM Wellness, and I AM Sincerity

This is my true identity but

Most people call me Amanda Rose! LOL!

Although, fun fact, my name Amanda does actually mean love in latin!

I am also

a Transformation Life Coach, meditation guide, podcast host, and aspiring author. The Healing Bar was one of the first stops on my path to my spiritual awakening which started almost four years ago. In 2020, despite the pandemic, I seemed to be thriving in life from an outsider's perspective. However, on the inside, I was deeply depressed, suffering from anxiety attacks and grieving from a separation from my child. Mostly I had everything I had been working towards in my life. I had a successful career as an entrepreneur, I had a new home, I had a new car, and a handsome man had just asked me to marry him. Sounds great, right? Well I felt nothing but emptiness. I couldn't understand this and I knew I needed someone to help me make this make sense! By the grace of the Universe I received some free therapy from a wonderful woman. She listened to me and sent me home with a prescription for self care. Gratitude journaling once a day.

That practice changed my life. I began to build a daily routine based on this gratitude practice, like yoga, meditation, and affirmations. Changing my mindset allowed me to manifest a life beyond my wildest dreams. I am now on track to self publish my book Gratitude Incarnate in December and submit my proposal in February to Hay House Publishing.

The G.R.A.T.I.T.U.D.E. Meditation

With meditation there is no wrong way or right way, there is only your way, much like yoga or creating art.

There are many different ways to practice and

different types of meditations such as:

In Motion - When you are actually in motion or action.

Example: Gardening, once you become familiar with the process you get into a meditative state because your mind already knows what to do. This allows space for thoughts to come up, be observed and processed.

Spot Meditations-Done in between motions.

Example:While waiting in the check out line I like to do simple gratitude meditation with breathing exercises.

Micro Meditations- MY FAVORITE!! These are quick resets which provide a longer state of mental rest.

I love these because I am always on the go and I can always take a few minutes with a micro meditaion to reset my brain.

Just like the meditation we will do today!

Deep Meditation- Youll be in a deep state of relaxation, typically in a sacred place.

This type of meditaion is like a feast for your soul.

Example; One hour long directed healing meditation that incorporates sound healing and visualization techniquews.

There are many different types and labels for meditation. This is designed for beginners but can be useful to all. I always invite you to do your own research and discover what works best for you.

GROUND yourself with breathwork. Try some simple breathing techniques or go outside and put you feet in the dirt.

REMEMBER when you wanted to be here. This is a tough one sometimes. Remember if your grieving, have gratitude for your role in that persons life or their role in yours.

APPRECIATE this moment is a gift from the universe. This moment is FOR YOU and only you. This is helping you be who you truly want to be. If it was easy, you’d be that version of you already.

TEND your mindset garden. Your mindset is like a garden. You choose what grows there.

INTERPRET the facts. Let go of the stories your mind has made up. Interpret the facts and only the facts. What are they there to tell you?

THINK about your core values. Make a list of your top TEN core values. Memorize them. Now think about those values and if they are matching your thoughts, feelings and actions right now.

UNDERSTAND this situation is unique. You will never have another moment just like this. Make the most of it.

DETACH from the outcome. You’re gonna be ok. You’ve always been ok. You always have what you need. Detach and let go. That is where your freedom will be found..

ENLIGHTENMENT is here now. This meditation is always here to guide you to raising your vibration.
